Every rate in the register points at the law or authority it came from, so an auditor can follow the number back.

One call per sale

Calculation API

One endpoint for a sale: seller, customer type and address, currency, lines with amounts and categories. The answer carries the tax per line with its rule and source.

A maintained rate register

Rates, thresholds and categories for VAT, GST and sales tax, published as versioned releases at data.cboxtax.com and installed locally by the engine.

Test and live keys

Separate keys per environment, so a staging checkout never calculates against live settings.
